Approved: Revision to Ambulatory Surgical Centers Related to CMS CfCs
New Elements of Performance requirements will be added to the Joint Commission summer E-dition update. These will address the expectation for compliance with the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101-2012) and the Health Care Facilities Code (NFPA 99-2012), as well as the revisions to Rights and Responsibilities requirements.

CMS Releases 2025 Proposed Medicare Payment Rule
CMS released their proposed 2025 payment rule for ASCs and HOPDs. Within this proposed rule, ASCA’s proposal to align ASC’s update factor with HOPD payments is adopted by CMS. Proposed additions to quality reporting metrics are also addressed.
