Web-based Education Raises Patient Satisfaction Scores for Outpatient Orthopedic Procedures
Enhanced patient satisfaction scores were seen in patients who received supplemental web-based education before having outpatient orthopedic surgical procedures in this study presented March 7 at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting.
A total of 177 patients were randomized to receive either routine education from the surgeon or web-based education.
The 87 patients who received web-based education had significantly higher total patient satisfaction scores compared with those who received routine education, and scores were specifically higher for communication and recovery, Healio.com reports.
