NWO Orthopedic Surgery Center Prepares for First State & Deemed Status Surveys

Leanne Gallegos, BSN, RN
Jolynn Cook, BSN, RN, COE, CASC, and I spent a fantastic day at NWO Orthopedic Surgery Center in Findlay, Ohio. Rarely have we been greeted so warmly by a team who was this prepared, organized, and happy to see us. Everyone we encountered was so welcoming and helpful. We visited to perform a mock survey, the first since this new ASC is expecting their initial state survey within a short time.
We were especially impressed with the physicians’ desire to meet with us at the end of the day to discuss our findings, ask questions and hear about our experiences with initial state and deemed status surveys. After spending time with this young group of physicians, it was evident that they take pride in their work, respect their staff, and most of all, they are committed to providing high-quality care to their patients.
Joan Conine, BSN, RN, CNOR, RNFA, is the Administrator and is a competent, knowledgeable and motivated leader, respected by her team. It was a pleasure to spend the day with her, and we look forward to a continuing relationship.
The hard work everyone put in to get this state of the art facility prepared for the survey was evident. We are confident the NWO Surgery Center will pass their initial state licensure survey and AAAHC deemed status survey with flying colors.
