PSS was a proud sponsor at the annual meeting of MASA, the Maryland Ambulatory Surgery Association. They had a record attendance of 70+ attendees. Many thanks to Andrea Hyatt, Marjorie Blouin, and the rest of their team for organizing a great event. As with most state ASC Associations, all board members are volunteers and we take our hat off to their dedication!
One of our valued webinar guest speakers, John Karwoski, RPh, MBA presented “Preventing Drug Diversion – It’s Not a Problem Until It’s a Problem”. I imagine we’ll see more of him on PSS Huddles and Half Times.
Debra presented on “Quality Management”. While the requirements have been around for a while now, it is still in the top five (5) deficiency areas during surveys. She also had to do a last minute revision of her slides that addressed Quality Reporting since the final rule was released the day before presenting. Be sure to stay tuned to PSS eSupport and open your eblasts on our new quality reporting requirements including Unplanned Anterior Vitrectomies, Normothermia and OAS CAHPS.
As a sponsor, Debra was able to present Progressive Surgical eSupport to attendees. She gave a brief tour of the website and discussed the benefits of membership including: the home page, the Forum, survey watch, policies and procedures, and other “most popular” pages. We were not surprised to peak the interest of many nurses managers and administrators looking for compliance tools and support!
Thank you MASA for the warm welcome and fruitful meeting!
